So many people have asked me for a "new" oriental, and I finally got around to replicating one in my collection. I purchased this one because it was a pleasing size, and had what looks like dogs and peacocks in it.

The first replica of this rug...beautifully hooked by Joan Fitzgerald...is very close to the original. We employed the beading technique to duplicate the fine dotted lines; it really makes the rug!
