This very "primitive primitive" was inspired by bits I liked from a couple of antique rugs that I saw in past years, in my travels. When I find a design element that interests me, I make mental notes and sometimes they get to be written notes! Then I add my own ideas and touches. That is, if it gets that far along, and if I can decipher my scribbles! This design fortunately came to fruition and when it called out to be hooked, I really just went with it. Of course I selected dyed wools from my odds and ends and vintage stash for most of it. To make sure I didn't "fuss" with it; I pulled out nothing that I'd hooked in. . .and just hooked the background however I felt like! Voila!
